  • HarborFest (Oak Bluffs): There is no better way to welcome in the summer than a harborside festival complete with a live band, food, and shopping.

  • Chappy Point to Point (Chappaquiddick): Enjoy a five-mile road race from Wasque Point to the Chappy ferry.

  • Island Autism 5K Trail Run (West Tisbury): Stretch your legs with a 5K trail run through Emanuel Estrella State Forest.

  • Sunset Concert Series at the Tabernacle (Oak Bluffs): Grab a picnic blanket or a chair and enjoy live music every Friday evening starting in July.

  • Edgartown 4th of July Parade & Fireworks (Edgartown): If you’re in search of 4th of July plans, look no further! Edgartown’s parade and fireworks overlooking the harbor are a must-see.

  • Murdick’s Run the Chop Challenge (Vineyard Haven): Benefiting Big Brother Big Sister of Cape Cod & the Islands, and two local charities, become a part of this 20-year tradition by running the loop around West Chop. You can think of this as your 4th of July “turkey trot”... What better way to kick off the 4th of July festivities?

  • Grand Illumination (Oak Bluffs): If you thought the Gingerbread Cottages couldn’t get any more charming, just wait until you visit this annual event held in the campgrounds. Start the evening with Community Sing in the Tabernacle and the lighting of the first lantern, and then watch the magic unfold as cottages light up with Chinese and Japanese lanterns. 

  • Agricultural Society Show & Fair (West Tisbury): Enjoy a variety of fair-favorite games, rides, and livestock shows at this four-day long traditional event. Fun for all ages, the “Ag Fair” is the perfect way to experience community spirit and the agricultural heritage of the island. 

  • Chilmark Road Race (Chilmark): Run a hilly 5K road race benefiting the Town Affairs Council

  • Amity Island 5K (Edgartown): Enjoy a flat and fast 5K in Katama, starting and finishing at the Farm Institute.
