Where to Shop on Martha’s Vineyard

Overview

We’re happy to share our Ultimate Guide to Shopping on Martha’s Vineyard!

The island offers many different activities that truly encompass the paradisiacal feel of this marvelous place, and that includes the diverse shopping experience. When shopping on Martha’s Vineyard, you’ll find a range of options for browsing handmade items, souvenirs, upscale clothing, and more.

What you won’t find much of, generally speaking, is “cheap” stuff. This is probably not surprising, but it needs to be mentioned that we don’t have a lot of chains and definitely no Marshalls, TJ Maxx, WalMart, or Target. It’s just not how we roll, but don’t worry, we’ll share some great spots for bargains in the mix. They are here if you knew where to look!

If you’re up for a memorable shopping stroll in our main areas, you can explore Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs, or the Main Streets of Vineyard Haven and Edgartown.

On this page, we’ll delve into each distinctive shopping experience so that you may find exactly what you’re looking for. OK! Let’s get shopping, shall we?!

Main Shopping Areas

There are three main shopping destinations on the island for the perfect spree:

Circuit Ave in Oak Bluffs: If you’re looking for a bustling retail adventure that includes essential clothing items, souvenirs, and sweet treats, Circuit Ave is the perfect spot for your needs. Circuit Avenue is definitely known to be more tourist-centered, as it is located in the busy Oak Bluffs, so you can be sure to find energy and excitement while you shop. If you are bringing a car, be sure to know how to parallel park, as the parking design was changed in 2022.

Main Street in Vineyard Haven: For a more leisurely shopping experience infused with local charm, Main Street is the way to go. Here, you’ll find unique clothing pieces, handmade goods, coastal-inspired home decor, and timeless accessories and jewelry that embody the essence of island lifestyle.

Edgartown: Edgartown has the largest shopping area out of the three, with a wide selection of places to find preppy clothing, luxurious accessories, and unique artwork. You might keep in mind, however, that the higher price tags often reflect the quality.
